Angry New Volvo Nightmare

I just got my Volvo February and already the Alternator and PVC valve has gone out. I am over $2500 into repairs already. Is this normal? I am so angry right now bc for this to be such an expensive vehicle how is it possible that the parts font last very long on this vehicle? Yes we are at less then 80,000 miles on the car. Can someone please help me understand what I have just gotten myself into? As of now I have nothing positive to say about Volvo considering my car has been a NIGHTMARE so far. I have a 2012 T5 S60 if that helps. Please can someone help me?

while its uncommon, alternators do go out from time to time. I had the alternator go on my VW CC at 49,000 miles (covered under warranty). When you say your PCV valve went, do you mean the PCV oil trap? What was going on when that failed? Normally that's a high mileage replacement and more so on older models not running synthetic oils which stay clean longer. I don't think either of these predict any future failures but its always good to know the prior owner and the maintenance history - Carfax reports can tell you if your car was dealer maintained, lease or rental fleet car etc.

You have a 6 or 7 year old car with 80,000 miles that you bought used. Yes, things do break. How are we supposed to help you?
