Just a quick note of introduction! I'm in Toronto, ON Canada, and this is my first Volvo project.

I just picked up an 89 240 DL Wagon, which I'm going to be using as a project platform. Had Volvos growing up; 3 that I can remember, so this is a real trip down memory lane for me.

Super excited about the car. She's a runner, and was a daily, but needs some dramatic attention. The interior is dirty beyond words, dash is cracked in a bunch of spots. Odo, trip and gas gauge don't work. Exterior is a mess; clearcoat is going and it looks like trash with all the trim bits misaligned.

The powertrain, a 5 speed manual, is in great shape, though. I wish I could say the same about the steering (steering wheel was installed way off centre) or the brakes (under heavy [wooden] braking the passenger side rear wants to rotate forward. Brakes clearly need to be redone.

I haven't decided which way I'm going to go on this just yet. I'll likely clean it up and make her look pretty and then decided what to do about the engine. Turbo the stock motor? Swap with an LS? I dunno yet, though I plan on enjoying the car as it is for a bit.
