Default nooB

well i just bought myself an 01 S60 turbo. I thought i'd never actually have one. The Fiance's family ALL drives them and they swear by them too. So when i totalled their 87 tank i thought to myself. "self, thats an amazing car"
Just imagine going about 35 into an intersection, light goes yellow, apply brakes....nothing. light is now red....standing on the brakes.....still nothing. glance to your left and see a red sunfire hauling through the light, watch as it gets closer and closer then slams into the side and awaaaaay it goes. I walked away from that wreck with nothing more than my pride hurt a little, and a broken brake pedal.

Sorry for the book, but I'm so happy I was driving that car that day. I still can't believe I wasn't hurt.

Oh and this is just my daily. My other car is a 95 caprice wagon, bagged and its "f'ing " low. its my project, that should be done some time this decade

heres the lifesaver

WOW very lucky.
Glad you were all right.

Here is a link to another wrecked car that the person lived. Was a little hurt but in the end was ok.

A Japanese car wouldn't have survived like that...[8D]

I'm curious as to why the brakes did not respond, though.

apparently it had done that little trick before. Just so happened the time between instances was so great they figured it would not be neccessary to warn me of that little quirk.

i basically stood on the pedal and at the last second, right at impact the passenger front locked and left the only skidmark. 4 feet forward 3 to the right.

i'm positive that any of my other cars would have not let me get out uninjured.

Highlights the importance of properly maintained brakes..
Pads, Rotors, fluid flush, boosters..etc.... you get my drift...
if it talks to you listen...

it had to be neglect for the brakes to fail. could have been air in the lines, worn pads. who really knows? I was borrowing the car, so the maintenance records are unknown.

all i know is, these cars are well designed and i'm going to always have at least one at my house.
