Hi, I have a 2008 S80 with the 6 speed auto and 3.2 inline 6. I need to replace the transmission, AWFC-80, because the previous owner didn't put in the right amount of trans fluid when leveling it off, and it has permanent damage (E.G. shifting hard enough to make my phone fall out of the holder). If I replace it myself at an autoshop, what things should I make sure to replace while doing the transmission replacement? Any other tips? Let me know if my etiquette was okay, I'm new to the forums.

 

how many miles? old school thinking is to replace the rear main seal when a tranny is out - plus if you are installing a used transmission you may want it to get inspected/tested and new seals/gaskets/pan cleaned out etc. not sure if you need to remove subframe stuff etc, but if so, that may give you clear access to other rubber bits like sway bar bushings, tranny mounts etc. Replace now and forget about em for another 100K+ miles.

Only forum suggestion is to get the most expert views, use the model specfic boards. Mods can move to the S80 board if you'd like.
