Exclamation Radio Code Volvo S40 2011 Plate

Hi my name is Sarah and I have just brought my first Volvo which I love but I have to replace the car battery

Hi all I have a new car battery being fitted today and I have no radio code (brought the car privately) does anyone know if I need a radio code? if I do does anyone know where I can get one! all advice and help appreciated

While changing the battery you might be okay, the capacitors in the radio will probably be enough to keep it's memory during the change. If you end up needing the code, you can get it from any dealer.

you can do a couple things - you can hook up a 12v supply to keep system voltage up when swapping batteries (some shops may be able to do this - not an uncommon practice), check the owners manual or inside of the glovebox to see if the code was written down or finally, assuming the radio is original to the car, you can get the code using the VIN from a dealer or web site.
