Angry V70 Radio Code.

Hi everyone, I have just acquired a second hand V70 mk2 2001 model but has no original radio in it or drivers manuals. Got myself a second hand HU 603 radio from a breakers but have no code for it so I'm a little stuck.

i have the serial code: VO4210 42077033 model number 34W421C/RY-603-5TH and I believe second serial number 30657637-1.

Tried my local dealer only one here where I live on my tiny little Island and have had no joy any ideas help would be kindly appreciated.

Thanks,

Andy.

you'll need the VIN from the donor - unless the yard wrote the 4 digit code on the box.

I know this might be unorthodox, but this has worked for me with an Acura radio and my own HU-555. Wherever your island is located, find the time zone for multiple Volvo dealerships around the US, from the east coast to Hawaii and Alaska for when they are open. Call them and ask to be transferred to the service department. Once they are on the line, ask if you can give them a serial number for a head unit you bought secondhand in exchange for the radio code. Just be nice and ask politely. If they say yes, then go ahead with it and they'll give it to you over the phone. If not, then call another one until you find someone who will.

I know this because I bought an Acura cassette/CD player unit from a thrift store and had to do that and then for my HU-555 as well. Most will look it up for you real quick, especially the more remote ones like in Alaska or random Oregon towns.

Hope this helps.

2001 V70s don't use radio codes.

Then what do they use? Genuinely curious.

Modules are programmed to the car with software. I haven't tried to swap a radio from one to another without programming so I don't know if it will work.

I have been told that the radio will work without programming, but the controls on the steering wheels will not.
