Default volvo s 60

I have a 2011 volvo s 60 with 75k miles. This weekend it was driving fine, until we parked. The check engine light came on. We turned off the car and it had white smoke coming from under the hood, this continued for about a hour after the car was turned off. There was also a substantial amount of either water or coolant pooling from under the car. There was a burning smell as well that came from the hood. We had the car towed and are awaiting an answer. Any ideas
? thanks

Hopefully it's something simple like a hose or radiator or the electric cooling fan and there is no damage to the head gasket. Sometimes you have to fix the obvious leaks first to be able to test for a damaged head gasket.

The ECM probably stored a temp sensor code - because the engine temp was outside it's normal range and that's why the check engine light is on.
