Volvo v40 stalling.
Hi all,
I'm new to this forum.
I have a Volvo V40 2.0 t (1998).
Started having problems with my car today. While driving my engine stopped, I lost power steering and the whole car died. I was able to start the car again and continue. Now all of a sudden I'm not able to start the car at all, first I thought it was the cables to the coils (had some issues with this before).
Now when I put my car ignition in the "run" position I'm not able to hear the fuel pump engage. I checked the main fuse and it's fine. I would like to know how I can be certain it's the fuel pump.
What should I check to make sure what the problem really is ?

did you check the fuel pump relay? Its not uncommon for the relay to fail, particularly when the pump is drawing too much current. Note if you replace the relay, don't be surprised if your pump fails shortly thereafter...
