We just bought a 2012 C70!
Hi guys!
I just thought I'd post a quick intro on here. My father just bought a new to us 2012 C70. I came along and helped him test drive and gave my opinions since I am a "car guy." I have been living with him for a few years now, me being in my 20's and back in my hometown area after college and some post-baccalaureate classes and him getting a little older, so of course I'd help him shop and offer my advice. What surprised me is that when we got home, he threw me the spare set of keys and told me to enjoy whenever he's not enjoying it
I am very grateful for this. My regular car is a 2008 BMW 135i, heavily modified and pretty ridiculous for street use I'll admit. However, it's a really fun hobby and I work on all the family cars myself. Driving the Volvo vert is a COMPLETE 180 in terms of the car's feel and mission, but that's not a bad thing. I love the feeling of the top-down and how solid the car feels. I have driven a lot of cars in the past, but for some reason never a Volvo. To me it really feels like a BMW 328i hard-top, except FWD instead of RWD, which really blows away my expectations having not driven one of these Swedes before. It's nice and peppy, definitely faster than the IS250 we also have despite being heavier, and it's just as quiet too despite being a convertible!
Anyway, I just thought I'd say hello. I'm no stranger to car forums, so I hope you guys are as awesome and welcoming as the previous communities I've been a part of. Well, I'm sure you will be
Modifying cars is pretty much in my blood, but I definitely don't plan to do much to the C70. It's already beautiful as is. So far the only things in the works are a K&N drop-in filter for a bit more kick from the engine and some better mileage, and possibly some new wheels. Please let us know if there's anything we should know about the car, or recommended modifications that will help us enjoy it more.
Only one picture so far, and it's a crappy cell pic, but I'll be sure to post more. Here she is, with my 1er right behind:
