Wiper does not touch Windshield V40
Hi, I am experiencing a strange occurrence on my 2002 V40. The passenger wiper blade lays flat against the bottom of the windshield when turned off, however when I engage the wipers the passenger side moves totally off the windshield about half-way through its movement. There is a good 1 inch gap at the high point.
I have removed the nut and secured the arm to the threaded pinion securely, and attempted to adjust it to no avail. I have checked to make sure the spring mechanism is not impeded and that the arm if fully engaged. So far no luck.
I am wondering if the arm was replaced at some point prior to my ownership, and if it is possible that it was replaced with the drivers arm and somehow they have a different shape. It almost seems that the passenger arm would need to dip into the windscreen.
Has anyone encountered this issue? Are the two arms, driver & passenger materially different other than driver being slightly longer? Do I just bend the passenger arm so it pushes down more? Something seems out of whack. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks
