Default new and about to turbo!

Hi everyone, I'm new here and I need some help. A friend of mine has a 2001 s60 2.4 liter basic volvo. I wanted to know what my options are in regards to turboing it. Are there any kits out there for abasic upgrade? I don't really want to have to replace the manifolds or injectors, etc. Just looking for an extra 50-100 hp. I have experience with turbos (I own a 1991 3000GT VR4 thatI work on) and cars in general (worked on 73 Mustang Mach 1 and 68 Camaro SS). What is the max psi the stock engine can hold? What size and where can I get the smallest turbo that will fit? I'll also of course need the turbo manifold, OEC or FMIC intercooler, pipes, etc. I've never worked on volvos so any help would be appreciated. Basically, looking to turbo a N/A s60 and wondering how much psi the engine can hold. Thanks everyoneand I look forward to learnig a lot from you guys and this forum!

Welcome to the forum.

To be honest it would be easier to sell your friends N/A and buy a turbo model and mod it from there.

Things you will need...

1. Turbo
2. Downpipe
3. Catback exhaust
4. Intercooler (OEM or FMIC)
5. Intercooler hardpipes
6. Couplers
7. Vaccum lines
8. Most importantly an ECU tune which to get exact would have to be a dyno tune.
9. Etc...

This will cost him big bucks too. If he does it he shouldn't run more then 5-7 PSI to be safe.

There is no real turbo kit out there. You will have to piece it all together.

what do you think about the electric supercharger that hooks up to the intake? Is that reliable or worth the money? This thing: http://www.electricsupercharger.com/ or ebay has one too: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Racin...mZ220148689371
and if so, do you think its better to keep the stock air box and attach the supercharger to the intake to that, or remove the stock air box and somehow keep it away from the MAF?

I'm sorry but this is truly something that should be banned from this forum. Which is talking about this Electric Supercharger. It is a gimmic it doesn't work. Do not fall for this. Waste of money. Again do not purcahse this product you will regret it.
