My sister's 1998 S70 is squealing like Ned Beatty on start-up. I think she needs a serpentine belt. Anybody got a good Volvo mechanic in the Farmington Hartford area? She's keeping 2 S70'S on the road. God bless her

 

My daughter (now a UConn Med School grad) had our 95 850 Turbo serviced at The Automotive Connection in New Britain (175 Newington Ave) and always felt Kenny was a straight shooter and reliable. Not sure if that's close enough to Farmington for her (its about 10 miles - a 15 minute ride down Rt 9)

I know a great guy but he's in North Windham, very close to where I live but about 50 minutes from New Britain. I used to work in Plainville which took me about an hour to get to.

It's called Manny's Imported Auto, LLC. His specialties are Saabs and Volvos.

Sometimes, that squealing is caused by a bad bearing in an idler pulley (for the serpentine belt).
