odometer problem

Default odometer problem

im thinking of buying a 1990 mercedes 190e but the odometer on that car is broken and would like to know if there is any way to check the actual milage from the computer or somthing

im still keeping my s70 though lol

It's my understanding that BCM's did not start recording mileage until 1996 when OBDII was introduced. About the best you can do is run a CarFax. It will show annual mileage at inspection time. At least that way you will be able to see how long ago the odometer died.

In our state the DMV will not record mileage on a car over 10 years old. They say a 10 year old car is EXEMPT. Actually printed on all of my titles.

It really doesn't matter what the mileage is on a 21 year old car. It'a all about condition.
