Serious? Not here, I looked at an 85 Silver 240Dl wagon about a month ago. 200k on the clock. Obviously well maintained but they wanted $3,500. That kind of money is now in the 850 realm or S70 T5R realm..... it was a nice 240 but not that nice!

So I am in Boston for work, and I swear everytime I turn around I see a Volvo.. Lots of 850s and S60s running around. I feel like I am in heaven

East Coast is Volvo motherland. You think there's a lot there, go to Maine. Instead of BMWs and Lexuses, people drive Volvos, not even exaggerating. TONS of wagons.

I actually live in southern Maine and it's completely true. Volvo's are everywhere. It's somewhat surprising considering the winters can be pretty harsh and they flood the streets with salt.

Well, you have to remember that Volvos are from Sweeden and they have lots of snow there. Also, they are made to handle in the snow well and are one of the best rust proffed cars ever made. If you keep the drain holes clear they will likely never rust out. Even the rocker panels on my 850 are plastic. That was probably the most common rust out problem ever.

Actually I have friends in Maine (Castine and Bangor) and there are like a Million 240 wagons rolling around up there. I did keep tally on what I saw over the weekend: (6) S60Rs, One Million 850's, a few V70s and one Yellow T5R. I also did see a 97850% in Black..... Made me proud to walk to see that many Volvos. One of the S60Rs I saw belonged to the Bartender at our hotel so chatted about the marque for a while.... Hopefully we will have a new member soon too!

This has nothing to do with Volvos, but I don't care. Some people might not understand it, nor get it but this thing is BAD!

So after some absence on here from "life" taking over... I continue with my emotional thread privided by Glibert33. As everyone knows I am a huge fan of Volvos> Normally the XC 90 has no room in my Garage because of its reputation of Subpar reliability, however I have found what it's good for http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buH_s...eature=related

Maybe instead of droppiung an 850 motor in a 240, I should just drop that V8 and plumb it with twin turbos
