Ok my first car was a 1978 Plymouth Arrow GT. I got it for $100.00 because it needed what he thought was major work. I found it to be bad exhaust manifold gaskets. It had a Mitsubishi 2.6 carbureted motor. That car was very fast for what it was. I had seen over 120 MPH in it. It would also Burn the tires in 1st and second and chirp third.
I had wanted to get a Mitsu Conquest turbo motor and put it in there. At one time I blew the motor due to a seal blowing out and loosing all the oil. Then bought another car. That one was the fire arrow took the motor out of it and put it in my car and junked the rest. Mine looked like the rusty one below and the white one was the second one I bought.

I wish I could find one again.

WTF! Why would she need to be driving that fast. I think I have driven that fast only once, to see what my wife's Honda Prelude would do on a long straight country road. And definately on my own insurance policy.
just FYI often GPS units calculate average speed and top speed taking into account locations while the unit is off. for example you can get turn it off get on a plane with it and use it on your vacation and fly back and when you get back your "average speed' during your trip might read 90mph. also if it looses signal for a few moments it might think you have jumped 1/4 mile in a matter of seconds and calculate your momentary speed as 120mph even though you were going 60mph the whole time in theory anyway. i haven't SEEN the top speed thing happen but i have seen the avg speed thing happen with my wife's garmin.

at 14, a 1929 model A roadster, in pieces, that my dad gave me. he'd started to make a hot rod and stopped. i replaced cobbled frame, patched it up, got the modified model B engine going & got the body back on. but in NC, wasnt really worth finishing up as a usable car. at 15, i bought a 32 fordor and got it together. again, tho, not practical (1966) so i bought a 56 dodge coupe ("semi hemi!") lol

Default First car

My first car was a 1964 VW Bug that had been passed down to my mother and then to me when I was 17. I doted on that car and kept it in pristine condition. I reluctantly passed it down to my sister after I bought my first new car, a 1976 Honda Civic 5 speed (yellow). My sister soon damaged the front of the bug, then the rear and had her boyfriend/husband cut it up to make a baja bug out of it.

My first car was an 83 Datsun Sentra with a diesel engine. It was the first and last one I have ever seen with the diesel motor. She had close to 250k when I got her, put a pile of miles on and drove it into a small pond before shipping out to basic training at Fort Knox, KY.

'82 Mustang GT. 306, Yates heads, full headers, true MAC dual exhaust, 125 shot of nitrous. Laid down over 460whp on the bottle.

I bought the car when I was 14 while doing odd jobs at a family member's shop, and worked on the car for 2 years while doing the same. I was ASE certified by 16.

First car was a 57' Volkswagon Kombi split screen. I think it had a 1100 or 1300. The thing actually ran on my Uncles plum Schnapps... I cant stop laughing now, funny times!!! These things are worth a fortune today.

First car was a 1970 Mustang. Bought it for $900 w/99K miles on it. 302 2 barrel carb., but it had positrak. Stolen twice and recovered both times. Drove it for about 8 years. Died in my driveway with over 200K miles.

Haven't counted, but it's amazing how many responders to this thread started out w/ Mustangs as their first car!

1976 Ford LTD. Two-door, bright yellow, green velvet interior, every option: 460cid, 4bbl, dual exhaust, Trac Loc, power everything. Rusted-out floor boards, bad points, no exhaust, broken door panels, completely rusted out rocker panels. Got it for free from family friends.
