AD41B valve cover vent spewing oil
I just had new pistons and sleeves installed in my AD41B penta engine. Visible smoke and oil droplets come out of the valve cover vent so I ran a hose to an empty oil container to contain the oil. At high RPM's, under load, A LOT of oil and smoke come out and into the container. Compression tested cylinders all over 300 PSI. All 6 injectors overhauled. No dead cylinders. Will get up to 3600 RPM WOT. Intake manifold pressure is 20 PSI at WOT. I donīt know why so much oil comes out the vent at high RPMīs. Exhaust looks fine.
I am thinking that the engine needs a valve job. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
A guy on Boatdiesel.com forum steered me to the oil problem. Bad oring on the oil feed tube to the rocker arm assy. Taking it on a test drive tomorrow to see if I still have a smoke issue.
