Default 1986 240 - missing fuse

I just removed a blown fuse 13 (turn signal, etc.) and dropped it down the hole at the bottom of the fuse box. Is it safe to operate the car with a fuse missing? I haven't tried yet -- thought I ask here first. (I don't have a replacement fuse yet.)

well, the turn signals and anything else on that circuit won't work, otherwise, everything else should be OK.

Okay, I put a new fuse in slot #13 (8 amp). The old one was obviously bad; I could tell by looking at it. But the turn indicators still don't work. Hmm.

well, time to dig up the schematics for an 86, and use a multimeter to debug the circuits.
