1986 Volvo 240 DL AC (micro-switch) temperature control line broke
I own a 1986 Volvo 240. My heater vent control buttons have not been working (air blows out of all vents at the same time), so I was following all the vacuum lines attached to see if I could locate the leak. But, when removing the center control panel, the AC temperature control's (sometimes known as AC Micro-switch) line that is cooper that connects from the switch then clamped to a condenser line has broke right where it connects to the switch. I heard air leak out from it when it broke, so I'm assuming there is a not a fix for this other than purchasing a brand new switch, as it comes when purchased with this line already attached. Does anyone know if I can just re-solder this line back together or am I out of luck with this part? Here is an image of what I got going on:

if you can find a small adapter that fits then yeah solder away, no harm in that. Then connect the broken line and the new "fitting" of some sort with some vac line.
It would be super easy to trim just a little of each broken end so the "break" is nice and clean, then get some vac line about an inch or two, and some hose clamps and stick it back together.

Thanks Nichals! I'll have to give that a try and see if it'll work correctly. If not I have a snowflake ac switch in a pile of parts I have thought about putting in to just have to ac kick on when I need it. I only really use the ac to defrost anymore, so it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.
