Default 1987 240 DL start/stall problem

I have just been given a 240 DL Wagon that will start and run for 5 seconds, then stalls out. You can try to give it a little gas when it runs, but it does not change anything as far the engine goes.
I have changed the fuel filter, relay, pressure regulator, and the ECU. The only thing I have not tried is the fuel pump.
Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for the info, I will check that out. I did finally get it to run though, it turned out to be a corroded mass air flow sensor. Then it would not start again, this time it was out of fuel.
It goes to show that you should always check the simple things first!!!
