94 850 stall problem after start up
My friends 850 had a stall problem after a few mins of driving when the engine is off, tried to restart the engine but will stall right after the start up. Tried to start it back up but only it will crank. Dealer have checked fuel pressure is okay, cleaned throttle body, replaced the battery.
Another tech who worked on the car performed a 120k service. He found a cracked hose near the throttle body he states. But today I found a hose that connects to I believe the PCV cracked and clogged. I replaced that hose but stalling problems still occurs. The stalling after start up only occurs intermittent. The basics were checked, fuel,ignition,vaccum. During the 120k service with the tech, a MIL (check engine light) was on. the tech diagnosis with a EGR problem. But never stated it was repaired!? Today i checked the EGR by adding vacuum to it, engine will run a bit rougher but will not stall. Therefore, the problem wouldn't be the EGR. Any ideas??

checked spark again. like before, drive the car for a few mins, stop the car engine off.. wait at least 1 min a few good start ups and most of every check the engine stalls. so I plug in a spark tester. when trying to do the symptom it worked, tester did not light when engine trying to crank. but have spark before it started up.

Cam Sensor, hm! Ill check it out. Right now Im still trying to figure out if there is spark when after the motor stalls and re-tries to fire it back up. Well the owner had told me before any service was done to her car that it will sometimes stall when its at a stop sign or traffic light. But will start right back up. Now that problem doesnt happen often or havnt happend to me. Just the stall after startup has occur many times on me rather than the other two techs which didnt take their time to redo the complaint.
Also, there wasnt any codes. Only code was when we disconnected the ECT which gave a DTC of 1-2-3 is false signal. I cleared it, rechecked for codes. Non were found.

First put the Guage on it and let it sit for a couple of Hours or so. The longer the better.
Before you start it see what the pressure is at. It should drop down some but not lower that 10-20 Psi.
If it goes to 0 then the fuel pump is bad.
That would be almost like changing the fuel filter then starting it. It will start and stall then catch the second or third time.

I hope I can check the fuel pressure today and have it sit before starting.
May i ask if the fuel pump lis ocated inside the tank? Just making sure becuz my 245 is located outside next to fuel filter.
Also, is the 850 spark control by the PCM?
Also looking through the fuel rail, in the middle of it below. There is a gold plated and torx screws. It will move while cranking, do you know what that is just for curiosity?

The fuel pump is in the Tank. Accessed from the trunk or rear of the car.
The PCM tells the coil when to fire after seeing the signal from the Crank sensor,Cam sensor and a few other things.
That I believe is the EGR setup. Cars with EGR are the only ones that have it.
