1988 240 electrical gremlins
just bought a new 240, one owner car owner passed, car may have been sitting.
everything was fine when i looked at it but on the drive home my fuel gauge stopped working. park it and next day the battery is dead. looks like all the lights (headlight, taillight, interior) stay on after shutting the car off and removing the key. if i disconnect the battery and dont turn the light switch on the lights are off.
any ideas where to start? i put in new fuses all around and swapped out the silver relay in the engine compartment by the battery and still nothing. car has been well maintained and garage kept its whole life. thanks !

start with a volt meter, trace the circuits.
hmmm, the interior lights, you mean teh dome light? or the dashboard lights? those aren't on the same circuits as the headlights at all. different output from the ignition switch, different fuses.
