Default 1989 245 crank sensor location

I am trying to trace down why my daughters 89 245 with automatic has no spark. I am not getting the flashing intermintent voltage to the negative side of the coil. I have been told it could be the crank sensor or it's plug. I can't find it. I climbed on top of the engine looking down at what little I could see of the transmission and I just can locate it. Do I have to climb under the car to find it?

It is right at the top of the transmission. it is probably a tight space to check because the 240 has less room than the 700.

It may not have a CPS but a Hall sensor... '89 is a transition year.

I climbed on the engine felt around and found there is no speed sensor. It makes sense as checked in the door and found the damn thing is a 87. I should have checked that first thing. Ijust believe what my daughter told me. Know if I can just figure out if it's EZ-116K or not it does have the 25 amp fuse on the fender by near the ignition coil.

I think it's the impulse generator in the distributer.

Well, if it isn't the impulse sensor, the ignitor/ignition module on the driver's side inner fender by the headlight and air box can fail also.
