Default 1989 740 GL gauges not working, does not crank after warmed up

Hey guys. Car has 150K. Soon after bought it, gas gauge and speedometer stopped working (more or less simultaneously?), I dont think clock ever worked and temp gauge sometimes works briefly after start-up for a few minutes. Tach works well. Also, recently will not crank after warmed-up (have to jump solenoid to start). Checked fuses and instrument panel ground, replaced A/T start safety switch on gear selector and it is a no-go. Any ideas? Also, do some relays normally get so hot? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

I would check the connection on the back on the gauge cluster and also check the tracings on the back of the cluster.
