1990 740GL stalling
In August 2005, I was rear-ended in my white on blue 740GL (near mint condition.) Since that day I have come to own a second 740GL 1990. Only this time the car was in not so near mint condition. The front seat was all ripped the roof lining has holes in it and I have replace a few part already. I was fortunate to recieve back my wrote off white 740 and I stripped it.
The Problem now is that when it is damp out and the car warms up a little it stall when I come to stop or a slow creep. After the car sits for about 5 min or so the car starts up agian. Two times, in a fit to try and start the car, it ended up flooded and the chech engine light came on (codes 121 and 122 were read in spot 2) It has done this for a month now on and off, but only when it is really damp and warm. It really started after a tune-up where the plugs, fuel filter, cap and rotor were switched, along with the transmission bushing. The mechanic had also found that the coil was failing so we repalced it with the one on the smashed 740. I noticed that the CPU in the front kick panel was different between the two 740's (only difference being leather interior and color.) One was a Bendix and the other was a Siemens. Can these be switched and why is my car stalling?
