1990 745 turbo hard start?
the pumps kick on for about 1 second in the RUN position, II. in I, just the accessories are powered. I can't even hear my pumps, unless I have my nose under the car or in the gas cap while someone else turns the key on.
I checked for the pump sound in the #2 position.
Yes I can hear the pump kick on. Does that mean the relay is working properly?
I'm noticing another symptom when drivin the first 200 feet after startup, the car
bucks or feels like it might stall. It never does stall though. Then the rest of my ride to work is perfect. Wonder if that's related?

yeah, if the pumps run for that second on key on, then the relay is working.
might be the idle air controller is gummed up, that could result in funky idle, especially when cold..

yeah, take it out, clean it with some solvent. its under the intake manifold, and connects via small rubber hoses to either side of the throttle body. one of the DTM#3 tests cycles it, too.
