1990 780 - No Heat!! AC Button Flashing Green.
Help.
My Heater is not working (blower fan that is) and the AC button is flashing green. It seems as though this is a code - trying to tell me something, but I can't seem to find out what. It begins flashing 2-3 seconds after I start the car and remains flashing slowly and majestically as long as the heater is not working. A couple of times, I turned the key slightly on (enough to cut out the radio) as I was driving down the road, and the blower fan came on (ac button stopped flashing green), but this only worked a couple of times - just enough to tease me into trying it about 150 more times - it did not work again.
The car seems to come up to temperature just fine and is running great. I think this is the car's first ever winter - I just bought it this summer and the fellow I bought it from says he got it from Florida and never winter drove it.
Anyway, I don't need air-conditioning. If this is an issue with something to do with the air conditioning, does anyone think I could just by-pass it and get my heater blower fan working? When it works it works great (it would almost knock a hat off your head on defrost)
I think I uploaded a picture of my heater controls (when I went out to take the picture, I started the car and the heater came on full blast - go figure.)
Is this the same as a 1990 740 or 760?

lev,
when you say 'control panel' do you mean the dash-mounted controls themselves? I have not removed this panel as yet as I was hoping to narrow down the problem before pulling things out (not knowing what I was looking for.)
Do you suppose that there would be a way for me to determine with any degree of certainty what the problem was?
I assumed that it would be more complex, involving relays and computers, or perhaps mirrors and elastics, that sort of thing...
