I love my 1991 240D Its black and straight as an arrow. 214K Yesterday the blower motor stopped working I checked the fuse and it was good A machanic freind of mine tested the 4 speed switch and tested OK The motor can be purchased on the internet for $12.00 the labor on the 240 is crazy The dashboard must be removed to get to the cylider style fan and istall a new motor Labor intesive and expensive QUESTION does anyone have another suggestion I need the defrost in the winter Am I missing something Let meknow Thanks
Get some scoops for the cowls and hit the freeway!!! Make sure the recirculation button is not depressed either.
Funny you should mention you love your 240, because the only other option you have is to sell it.

Modified Chainsaw Method - Welcome Fans of the Volvo 240
They use a dremel tool to gain access to the blower motor and somehow put it back together. I haven't read through it or done it myself.
Good luck
