I took my car up to a shop earlier to day to get the AC system refilled, it has a low charge, but the compressor itself is dead. The shop tried hot-wiring it and it wouldn't cycle.

What puzzles me is that this compressors from 2012, maybe the clutch is out?

I'm trying to figure out if I need a new compressor or if it just has bad ground or something. All of the relays seem to work.

The AC system itself is R-134A, most of the bits were replaced during its conversion save for one of the vales (one valves new the other original), all work done by professional shops.

 

what brand was that 2012 compressor? cheap parts don't last long

if the compressor was run a lot when it was low on pressure, that would greatly accelerate its wear.

 

I cant tell the brand, its a darker gray with a golden (or bronze) wheel. It looks very similar to this one: Volvo 740 760 780 940 DKS15BH A C Compressor New Kit | eBay

For my next compressor whats a good brand to go with? I'll be sure to keep the charge up with this one!

 

Looks like I have a re-manufactured Diesel Kiki unit, doesnt seem like it was re-built by "All Seasons" or any regular companies.

Should I try another Kiki or are there other options?
