1992 Volvo 740T Wagon Brake Question
I have a 92 Model 740T wagon which I have owned for approx 7-8 months. When I bought the car the guy said the rotors and front pads were new. Upon getting the car I had my mechanic do some preventative maintenance to the car and he looked and the front brakes and confirmed they looked new. They have started squealing to high heaven. I took the front tires off today and the pads and rotors do look new. The rotors on the mic have a thickness of 26mm. According to a chart I found here on the internet the correct thickness on a new 740 rotor should be 22mm with an absolute min of 20mm. (This is is Girling w/abs by the way). The chart shows a thickness of 26mm for rotors on a 900 series for the same vintage. My question is is is it possible these rotors are wrong all together, should I have these turned and install new pads? Also what is the proper torque on the lug nuts, I believe I read 62lbs, and when taking these off i'm pretty sure they exceeded that. Any ideas or advice is appreciated. Thanks in Advance
