Default New Owner of 740t Wagon

Hey everyone, wanted to update from my search that is about a year old (whoops!) I am now the proud owner of an '89 740 Turbo Wagon! I picked it up yesterday and have already disassembled the entire interior for a major cleaning and doing small fixes. It has 266k miles, is all original, owned by an older couple who took it to the Volvo house for every frickin' little thing. It drives amazing and everything works except the O/D and A/C.

So, I'll start another thread for the O/D issue. I know there are a few different approaches and it seems to be a common problem. The A/C compressor kicks on, just doesn't blow cold. I'll get it recharged and inspected and then see where I stand.

My wife and I have wanted on of these for forever!! We are pretty stoked!

I know they say "pics or it didn't happen", so here ya go! It still needs another weekend of taking the seats out and possibly replacing the carpet, but it is a HUGE improvement over when we brought it home Saturday. Enjoy!

Looks super clean, congrats. I bought a 91 745 with 265K on the clock last august. Nothing but smiles in that car.

re: seats, you can use seats from any 740/760/940/960/s90/v90 in any of those cars, they'll bolt right in. if yours aren't power, and the new ones are, you'll need to run power to them, of course. ideally, cut the connector pigtails off the donor car, and splice those onto some wire from a suitable fuse. I put some 960 seats in my 1992 745T. Note the power seat connectors also come in a few variants depending on year/model.

the seatbelts come in a couple variations, as do the side trim pieces, but they'll all bolt up to any of them... so I used my existing seat belts and belt latches, bolted to the 960 seats (the donor car had a different style belt with the retractor on the seat side)

Thanks for the input! How did you know I was thinking about seats?

Congratulations. Perfect color and wheels for 740 turbo wagon (at least my preference).

Thanks! I could not agree more. We are really enjoying the car. Spent a day dismantling the interior and deep cleaning, so its much better now. Still needs A/C service and a new radio, but other than that, all bulbs are lit and everything works. I hate burnt out bulbs and the like.
