Default 1993 245 Dash Cluster Questions

The odometer on my '93 245 quit working, and I wanted to add a stock tach when I pulled the cluster. I was expecting to find a red/white wire with a female connector currently not used behind the cluster. In my '89 that red/white wire was for the tach. What I found was a white/pink wire with a male connector and a red/white wire with a female connector both attached to the dash cluster. It appears the cluster was a replacement unit because written on it in yellow was "'90 Volvo 740". So this leads me to the following questions.

1) Do the 240 and 740's use the same dash cluster? 2) Is the wiring different? 3) Since the red/white wire I thought would be for the tach is already connected to the cluster, how would I connect the tach?

Bit thrown by the odd wiring, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

NO. Both wiring and cluster are totally different as are all electrics in the 740/940 series. Not sure about the wiring--that is the problem with non standard modifications. The guy who did it is the only one who knows what he did, the next owner is clueless.

240 and 740 gauge clusters look completely different and are a different shape. Whoever wrote that on there is wrong.
