How to read the actual mileage on the cluster of the Volvo 850, 1993, 1994 and 1995
Decided to make a video on how to read the mileage on the Volvo 850. This works on the 1993, 1994, and 1995 model years.
This reads the mileage on the cluster, NOT THE ECU. If the cluster has been replaced, it will still give you the mileage on the cluster, not the car.
It is very common for the odometers on the Volvo 850's to stop working. When this happens, the mileage still counts in the cluster. I have checked a car that had a stuck odo. The dash read 124,500 but the cluster had over 225,000. What a difference.
Anywho, here is the video:

Thanks for the vid rspi, but this doesn't seem to work on my '95 855 N/A w/yazaki cluster. A7, key on, press 5x, and nothing. LED comes on when you press it, but not otherwise.
Is there another method for the Yazaki cluster? Apparently this was a 2nd source supplier maybe; I think most came with VDO clusters.

On the Yazaki you reset the Service Reminder via a reset button on the cluster (small access cover in the glass). You can't do it via the OBD1 port.
Appears I am not the only one with this experience; ck post #24 in this thread:

Yazaki clusters are mainly just a "display" unit which has no "logic" behind it. This is why the Yazaki have no BC and also no diagnosis and the rest of the "higher functions" from VDO.
Yazaki clusters cannot be queried about mileage.
SRI is performed over the small button behind the ruber cap as gdog mentioned.

The SRI indicator light comes on two minutes after starting the engine and stays on until reset on servicing. It is reset via the engine compartment DLC (VDO), or on the dashboard itself (Yazaki).
