1993 Volvo 940 wagon - soft brake pedal
Replaced brake hoses, bled brakes at the calipers with a helper pumping the pedal. Didn't see many air bubbles. Pedal is soft and goes to the floor.
Bought a pressure bleeder, bled brakes at 15 lb/in², then again at 20 lb/in². Didn't see many air bubbles. The pedal is soft and goes halfway to the floor.
What's the secret to getting this right? How much fluid should I expect to run through each caliper to purge all the air out?
The pedal was high & firm before replacing the hoses. The pads & rotors are almost new.
Single-piston, single hose front brake calipers. Left-hand drive; master cylinder on the left side firewall. ABS on the right fender and a labyrinth of brake piping running hither & yon.
