Default 1995 Volvo 940 - Flame Trap Question

My last 245 (just sold last night) taught me what a flame trap is. I removed that one and cleaned it with no problems...

I'm not sure what to make of the one on the 940. I was quickly able to identify its location, but it's like it is not all there. Here is what I mean...

On the 84 245, there is a little end onto which the flame shield housing piece connects. Within that y-shaped housing piece is a filter of sort with the tiny holes that are known to become clogged. Then there is the two ends onto which the two hoses connect which run to the intake and the air hose.

The one on the 940 is so confusing. All there is once I remove the hoses is a white sorta Y-shaped plastic piece, but there is no "filter thing" with holes to clean. I don't understand, did this piece not come on this model? Though the car does not leak oil, I see blatant signs of oil spewed about near the block, which I would think tells me I have a clogged flame trap...............

Turbos don't have flame traps.

Clean the "oil separator" which is a plastic tank thing directly under the place where the flame trap would be, just follow it down to it. Best to remove the intake manifold to get to it. Cars with EGR are especially hard to get to the separator with the manifold in place.
