Hi again, I’ve hit another road block in my project. After getting a new fuel rail for my 240, I’m having an issue with this little hose connecting the fuel rail to the intake
Here’s a pic of the line and where it mounts:
Does anyone know how to loosen this sucker? i’ve already managed to break it off the old fuel rail, and i’ve tried PB blaster and WD-40. No luck. Or what’s the name of this part called? any idea where i can get another one?
the cold start injector is in the middle of the picture of your manfiold, with the blue rectangular connector.
what year 240 is this? the 1991 in your signature ? if so, 'fuel pipe', part 1317061. and you probably want 2 each 'gasket' 947620 for the banjo fitting, and 1 'gasket' 1271488 for the throttle body to intake manifold. 'gasket' 1378879 for the intake manifold to head.

Perfect, this is the only thing that’s been keeping me from getting my car running again. you’re a life saver.
It shouldnt be that hard. Definitely badly seized. But make sure you are also turning them the correct way! Try doing a submerged soak overnight in pb blaster or transmission fluid.
remember the big nut turns the smaller one is static.
If you do it and your facing it turn big nut away from you while holding the smaller nut still. Try vice grips.
Goodluck and regarding the gasket pieces, ****** those from the junkyard!!

Did the soak, it worked! Thanks! but now I need a new part, as the threading on the new fuel rail is too small for the bolt on the hose oh well
I would not use old gaskets, even minuscule air leaks between the throttle, manifold, and head will make for awful idle problems.
I would also get all new seals for the injectors. oring kit 1346393.... kit contains o-rings, plus a two piece plastic cup, I think you need 4 kits for the 4 injectors
the nipple on the rail that your cold start injector pipe fits on is not a separate replaceable part. I noted that the fuel rail drawing said 1991+ in the parts catalog. the fuel rail is 6842429 (replaces 6842434). I have no idea what the differences are between that and earlier versions.
Hi Forum. Although this is an older thread I am hopeful I will get some replies.
I have a 1993 240 wagon, 2.4LH, automatic. I started out replacing flame trap and oil separator, now I have the intake manifold and fuel injection rail, throttle body, fuel pressure regulator, idle air valve and MAF and fuel and vacuum hoses in the scope of the work. I am also replacing distributor cap, rotor, plugs and wires.
I found that one of the injectors came free of the rail easily. The other 3 did not. Is this an indication that the seals of the 3 firm injectors are OK? or is it an indication of another condition i need to address? I have replaced the top o-rings as they are easily removed. I have ordered pintle caps and filters and will replace them and the lower o-rings and spacers once I get the injectors off the rail.
Thanks for your help. Always the best.
I am in the process of doing a thorough cleaning of the manifold and vacuum nipples. I will use OEM parts as available. I do not tend to trust aftermarket parts. These are sensitive systems and deserve the engineering integrity of the original parts.
