Default 240 SRS/horn issues

Greetings, I just acquired a 1990 manual 240 with the SRS light illuminated & no horn. I was able to reset the light, & the horns are loud & clear when jumped, but MIA inside. Dismantling an airbag steering wheel would be a completely new adventure that I would be happy to avoid. Is there an alternative? And if not, advice? Cheers, & thanks in advance.

You may not have to take out the bag to do the horn buttons if that's what's missing. Better post a picture to see what's going on.

Thanks lev, I haven't even touched the wheel, all I know about airbags is they can hurt you if you don't know what you're doing...

Disconnect the battery, wait a couple of minutes then remove the airbag. I've removed and installed at least a hundred. But I've always felt queasy with my arms wrapped around the steering wheel undoing the bolts or the release catches! And have removed many with the battery connected -

I don't know about the 240 but on the 7/9 series better lock the clock spring in place or it's gonna unwind and then it will need to be recentered. There is a screw under the bag that needs to be installed to lock the clock spring in place, but this only applies to the steering wheel removal if needed.
