Default 240 Stalling with Gas + Not Starting Well

Hey everybody. Hoping the Borg mind can help out with a recent problem that's come up with our '92 240.

A couple days ago, the car started fine, but immediately started running erratically, feeling like it was about to stall out at lower speeds and then, whenever I gave it a lot of gas, it would stall out or nearly stall out.

Then, after about 5 minutes of driving and then stopping the car, it took about 15-20 seconds of turning over to start.

After 10-15 minutes of driving, all seemed fine and it started totally fine after that a little later that day.

Next day, same issue—takes a lot to start, stalls when I press down on the gas a lot/suddenly from low gear.

Not sure if it has anything to do with it, but we live in Los Angeles and it's just now started to get "cold", with our first chilly day same day this started happening, on Monday.

Not sure if it's the air intake or a fuel injection issue or what, but any shared wisdom would be much appreciated.

first thing I'd check would be the condition of the air intake plumbing, everything between the MAF (aka AMM) and the intake manifold, also any vacuum lines.

Thank you. I'm pretty novice to all of this. Any chance you can point somewhere online that would walk me through that?

you're looking for air leaks, even tiny ones, in the big plastic air pipe, its connections, and any of the hoses that come off that.

if that's too complex, bring the car to an experienced European import mechanic, preferably one with older Volvo experience.

Got it. Yeah, we've got a good mechanic, but I'm heading out of town soon and wanted to see if I could fix it myself. So, get the car running and feel for leaks by hand, yeah?

Thanks again.

visual inspection, its unlikely you'd feel air leaks at idle.

it could be a lot of things... the crank position sensor or its wiring might be funky... if the engine mounts are bad, they should be fixed, before the engine tears itself right off the engine compartment and does more damage.
