740 to 245 engine swap

through certain circumstances I’ve ended up with a mismatched motor to swap into my 89 240 Wagon. Due to lack of knowledge I’ve ended up with a 740 engine and am looking for instructions for a successful swap into a 89 240. Mainly the distributer installation into the black and a plate to cover the back of the head where the electronic coil was.

You should be able to use the parts from your 240 on the 740 motor. They are the same except for the distributor location. I have a 1994 940 with a front distributor ala 240...
