Over the weekend I ended up backing into a mailbox. shattered the window and dented the tailgate pretty good. At the junkyard i found 3 tailgate. One was gold and from a 88 740. The other one that was in much better shape, metallic gray like mine and with limo tinted window was from a 92 960 wagon. Are the 89 that I have and the 92 tailgates interchangable without any trouble. looks like it would be but any input would be appreciated.

 

Don't know. But, I think careful measurements would help you decide.
