Just wondering, it seems every 740 dashboard the top upper section is black. I remember that in my uncle's old '86 740 Turbo wagon that the top part was beige? It had a beige interior. Also just below that of the vents it had a chrome strip running across the dash. It appears all original. Was this a rare upgrade or something? If it is I'll be even more disappointed since my parents got rid of it 10 years ago. The car was a gift from my uncle when he had to move halfway across the world when I was in the 2nd grade believe or not.

 

Hm, I don't think they were all black... I believe there are beige, red, etc. As far as the chrome strip, they all have that up to 1990.
