740 distributor
Ok. I swapped cylinder heads in my 92 740 wagon. It's taken me 6 months because I had to learn as I went. I'm down to the 'easy stuff' I guess, just need a little info. All I have to do is put the distributor on,and the new wires, valve cover gasket, and valve cover. So, I'm just confused over how the distributor should be turned. It's cam-driven,attached to the back of the engine.Do I set the timing marks on the timing belt, etc, then put the distributor on? Which way should the rotor be pointing? By pointing, I mean does the bigger end point up, or the smaller? And since i have a different cylinder head ,does it matter how the camshaft sits in there? I've read that the rotor needs to point to #1 cylinder. How do you make that happen?
You can tell I don't know much-it's a wonder i got this far !
I wanna get this thing started before winter. Greatly appreciate generous and detailed info. BTW, my ignition is rex/regina,but my distributor is Bosch.(I know, but it's ok) thank you!!!!

Why did you even bother replying? What does all that even mean? I posted a legitimate question and I get smart-*** replies or no replies at all. That's ok. I figured it all out myself, with nobody's help and it starts up and drives great. Thanks for nothing everybody.
