Default 740 GLE with problems.

I am very irritated at the moment. I bought a 740 GLE Wagon off a friend for like 50 bucks. Before the car was purchased... the owners previously had warned me that it would not start. After some fiddling around I realized the car didn't have any gas in it (besides the fact they told me it had a 1/2 tank!) I finally drove it back to my apartment building and it seemed to run fine for a while. My speedometer doesn't work, my check engine light comes on and sometimes my fuel guage doesn't accurately read. I was driving it to work the other day and it stalled out in the middle of traffic with my foot on the gas, it was like someone turned the key off on my ignition. The speedometer and fuel guage I could tinker around myself, but I was wondering what would cause it to just stall out while driving it?

Just as a guess I would say your tank has a bunch of rust/crud in it from not having any fuel in it, or a big dose of water is possible too. Check to see what code you have turning on your CEL and go from there. It could be a bunch of things so you might as well start with seeing what the ECU is faulting and go from there.

Alot of things can cause this.
Fuel pump relay.
Speed sensor.
