Default 740 intermitant starting problems

Hello,
I have a 1991 740 nt wg. I have been having intermitant starting problems. Yesterday the car wouldn't start so I called a mech. I was suppossed to drop the car off but could not get it there. He suggessted tapping the relays on the passenger side shock mount. I did that and the car started. I went to purchase the realys because there are two and no one has them. I pulled four form a salvage yard and tried to interchange them but they didn't work so I replaced the old ones back in the car and it started just fine this morning. I checked the Mass air flow sensor and lookedat the fuses. I am not sure where the fuel pump relay is. I read someone mention that. I have not checked the fuel pump in thet tank yet. Is that located under the back seat for access? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
