'79 245 Wagon...Heater switch and rear wiper question.
Help wanted. I have successfully repaired the wiring harness that controls the rear wiper on this wagon. Currently, all wiper functions are working. However, when the heater fan is turned on all is still normal. But, when I turn the fan control **** to the off position, the rear wiper automatically runs a single wipe cycle and then parks itself even though I did not activate the wiper with the wiper switch. Is this a normal function? Please reply if you can help. Bueller, Bueller?
Thank you. This was my assumption, as well. This behavior is consistent each time the heater **** is turned off. I will have to do some digging into any wiring that might be contacting or leaking between circuits. Unfortunately, the wiring diagrams in my Chilton do not publish every wiring option related specifically to the wagon. I may also look for a fuse that may share functions between the two. If I find one, I may be able to detach the offending wiring and attach it to a different fuse circuit. I may also see if there is some rear wiper commonality with the rear defrost, since that wiring also goes down the length of the wagon to the tailgate. The rear defrost circuit may have some commonality with the heater controls. Thanks again. Keep sharing thoughts folks, if you have suggestions.
