81 244 engine swaps
Morning all,
81 244 looking for the best engine swap guidance.
first thought was a GM small block. But wondering about other options? VTEC? turbo 6? Was even looking at a 4AGE build.
Or is there a beefy build for the stock 4 banger?

ranking choices as worst, better, best requires some metrics. what are your priorities?
the guys on turbobricks regularlly push a B230FT up past 250HP but at that point you'd best be replacing the transmission, final drive, etc with something beefier and then there's not much 'volvo' left other than the skin.
squeezing a chevy smallblock in there will be really tight, in particular the exhaust headers will probably have to be custom.
