I need some advice on getting the driver's inside caliper free, the lower piston is stuck and when I removed the dust boot it was a bit rusty and closer inspection of the pad showed that hadnt been working for some time. Working on getting the car safetyd and would like to know how to free the piston, would rather fix then replace, I saw that volvo does sell a rebuild kit for the calipers need help soon car is on stands now

 

go to autozone and get two new ones ... replace both sides ... it will be worth it

 

that's what I'm going to do, but having a hell of a time getting the brake lines free of the caliper body, one snapped already because it was twisting with the fitting. Do not want to snapp all of them, any tips or tricks to getting them loose with out stripping the copper nuts?

 

Spray the fitting with PBblaster. Let it set for a couple hours. Spray it again. Get the tightest flare nut wrench that will fit and work the nut back and forth slightly to break the corrosion. Spray it again. Have patience. Consider replacing the brake hoses if they're twisted or swollen.

 

does any one know of a good source for oe parts, lowest quote so far for one caliper was $84 with core (in town here in winnipeg), cheaper on the net($55 with core)
