She started acting up this afternoon

From a dead stop when i give it gas it seems like its not getting enough gas from what it feels like...

But if in cruising on a service road and i give it gas everything is fine.

It is an automatic by the way
Its also been sluggish prior to today on cold starts in the morning then it would go away after it starts to warm up..

Ive changed many parts but i have not changed the fuel pumps. Could it be that?

I have never changed the o2 sensor either.

Sound like air fuel mix to me. Haven't looked up the spec on your car but on older cars O2 sensors need time for the exhaust pipe and sensor to reach full warm to read and make corrections. Easiest way to tell how "effective" it is on a cold engine is to count the wires.

2 wires - system needs to be hot for it to work
3 wires - it has a heater but still needs time to warm up.
4+ wires I don't recall what all they do but they increase cold running data and usually have 2 or more sensors on the exhaust.

Don't needlessly replace parts. Check YouTube on how they work and how to test them. Most part use voltage to relay info to system computers and can be checked with a $10 multi-meter and the understanding of where to check and how it should work.

 

I just realized after i posted but this happened after i was in bumper to bumper traffic for almost 1.5 hours..

Seemed to be ok once i took her out again tonight.

Still sluggish on cold starts though..

The cold start sluggishness used to be worse until i changed injectors..

 

I have always heard that on these cars the fuels pumps don't go out intermittently. When they crap out they crap out.

As a starting point I would clean the throttle body and mass air flow sensor and check the air filter. I would also check the two hoses that go into the mass air flow sensor. I have a feeling your problem has more to do with air and vacuum that with fuel.

 

Most likely a main fuel pump problem, but diagnose first.

 

It could be the fuel pump relay those do tend to give intermittent problems.

 

Update:
Turns out that it was spark plug wires...lol

Never thought to change them as they looked fine

Now shes running great!

 

Never would have thought of the spark plug wires being the problem. They usually cause misfires not sluggish acceleration.

 

I was surprised to find this to be the problem too! Lol

 

Did you change the spark plugs while you were at it.
