Default 87 240 Degreased No Start

I just bought my first volvo, 87 240 dl. I degreased the engine yesterday and ran some seafoam through it. Engine ran fine, drove for about 5 or 6 miles and parked it overnight. Went to crank this morning and nothing. Lights, horn, radio work. I made sure to cover the dist, alt, plugs before washing. Removed and wiped out dist cap and wiped off wires. What else shoud I be looking for to get my girl runnin' again?
By the way, great forum, very helpful. Thanks!

Ok, first of all, there's only 9 hours in between posts. Your not always going to get a speedy response, so just relax. Second, your completely in the wrong area. If you have a question about your 240, put it in the 240 section, not the new members section. OK?

Sorry about that,I guess I was just freaking out a bit. You are correct, relax, and patience is the key.
Thanks, Woody

No problem, sorry if that came off a little snappy. . Try posting in the 240 section and you should have a lot more luck.

First of all, please note that I'm not privy to the 240 series.

Degreasing & rinsing the engine takes extra care and is not recommended on modern vehicles full of electronic components.

The battery seems fine, but something is preventing the starter from energising. If the 240 has exposed-type starter relay (the ones you often see on 80-early 90's Ford trucks), it may have water. Or, water may have collected somewhere else, say, the fuse box (if so equipped in the engine compartment).

I would follow the starter & ignition circuit once again and make sure everything is nice & dry.

Again, I don't know much about the 240 so I'll let the experts help you as the trouble could be elsewhere as well.

Good luck,

JPN

Turn on the dome light and try to crank the starter. If the light dims a little that means the starter solenoid is getting current. If the light stays bright it means no juice to the starter solenoid.
