'87 240 DL won't start
My 1987 240DL won’t start. My ’87 has been sitting for 5 years. I decided to get it running and try to sell it. Charged the battery, added new fuel, and after some effort it started.
Ran it for about an hour, added more new fuel, premium stuff. Started it and ran it two more times. Now – nothing – it turns over and spins good but will not fire up. Checked about everything I can think of at this point. I have a new fuel filter (not installed yet), Looks like no spark from the coil. Coil has 12.5V at the positive terminal but nothing going to the distributor cap. Ordered a new cap and rotor. B230F engine with fuel injection. Looking for the resisters and fuses that might play a part in the control module.
The book says there is a resistor that controls the spark an/or coil, haven’t found that yet.
Any good knowledge out there guys?

you don't have a resistor...that oddity stopped around 84 or earlier.....I assume you are reading a Chilton manual? I have a 79 with a resistor and had an 87 240 and no resistor...
there might be a fuse by the battery area....that might have blown out...also there is a small 10 gauge wire on the positive battery wire that feeds power to the intank pump....clean and tighten the connections and make sure the wires have good contact...
follow the two wires coming from the distributor (hall sensor) going to the ignition module by the overflow plastic tank...check under the crank pulley to see if they are chafe...cut or something...
