Default 87 volvo cruse control

Ok, so I took out the cruse control from a junk yard 240 '88 vintage. The one part I did not get (I hope it's only one part!) was a cable that runs from the transmission to the same place the throttle cable goes. Is there a difference between the cable for a Auto transmission and a 5 speed manual?

Default 87 cruse..

Hey cool! so ok I tried to install the bracket under the steering column and it is not a very good fit, the bracket has some soup can sized vacuum servo and cable to the gas pedal attached. But there is a silver component on the clutch pedal in the way, and I don't want to bend, damage or? maybe I need a different bracket as the one I have did come off a car with a automatic and mine has the clutch pedal that maybe is now in the way.? any of you know any thing about this?
Thanks, and God bless.

cruise control for a manual is slightly different than for an automatic... there's an additional cruise 'kill switch' on the clutch.

There's a second vacuum dump switch on the clutch pedal identical to the one on the brake pedal for disconnecting the cruise by depressing either pedal.

Default 87 cruse

Ah gee...I have gone to two different supposed Volvo specialist shops that actualy have some Volvo junk cars in there back lot, and neither of those folks have even seen a 5 speed manual with a cruse control! and of course all the junk yards around here don't have one either! just my luck. Even E-bay has several units but all for the 90-93 models or they cost more then the car did. Bummer

Just get another brake pedal switch and install it on the clutch pedal with another vacuum line and a T fitting, OR, do without it, just remember that your clutch pedal WILL NOT disengage the cruise--no big deal! The cruise kit is the same for manual and auto, at least on the 740/940 lines, may be different on a 240.

afaik, there were more 240's with the M46 4-speed + OD than with the 5-speed

[my volvos have all been AW7x slushboxes]
